Q:  What exactly are cake balls?

A:  Imagine little bites of your favorite things – cake, icing and chocolate or candy – all in one amazing little nibble!  All of of our cake balls (except the cookie dough ball) are fully cooked cakes, mixed with our secret recipe icings, and finally dipped in either chocolate, white chocolate, or a candy coating.

Q:  How are the cake balls packaged?

A:  Zen Cake Balls are either packaged in 100% biodegradable, ecofriendly boxes that hold 6 cake balls each.  Or, for a more dramatic presentation, you can have your Zen Cake Balls individually packaged individually on bamboo popsicle sticks.  The “cakesicles,” as we so lovingly call them, can then be arranged in vases, in coffee mugs, or handed out as is – but no matter how you decide to arrange them – they are sure to make an impression.

Q:  Why do I have to order Zen Cake Balls 48 hours in advance?

A: All of our cake balls are made to order for absolute freshness.  Zen Baking Company’s process of creating your cake balls from start to finish is a 48 hour process.  Hey – it takes time to create perfection!

Q:  Can you ship Zen Cake Balls?

A:  ABSOLUTELY!  During the summer months, (May – September) Zen Cake Balls are shipped via UPS Next day/Overnight shipping.  They are packed with FDA approved, non-toxic, ice packs to keep them cold until they arrive to your destination and are nestled in plenty of packing peanuts (biodegradable of course!) to make sure they arrive to you just as beautiful as they leave our kitchens.  Our shipments go out Mondays and Wednesdays (but overnight delivery, weekend delivery are possible for an additional fee).  

Q:  How do I keep Zen Cake Balls fresh once I get them?

A:  Upon delivery, we recommend that Zen Cake Balls are refrigerated until ready to serve.   If you don’t need them right away, keep them in a box they are in, wrap box in plastic wrap (alternatively – put the cake balls in a plastic container with a tight fitting lid) and put them in the freezer.  Zen Cake Balls can be kept in the freezer up to 1 month and in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.  But let’s be real here…once you take a bite out of a Zen Cake Ball…you’ll notice how very quickly they disappear!

Q:  How should I serve Zen Cake Balls?

A:  For ultimate freshness, keep the cake balls in the ice box until ready to serve.  Place them on platters at room temperature and refrigerate any left overs (if there are any!).

Q:   Where are you located?

We are based out of the Dallas/ Fort Worth, but at this time, we do not have a storefront. All of our little gems of zen are made to order.

Q: If you don’t have a storefront, where are your cake balls made?

A: We partner with Elixir Kitchen Space where we have access to a certified commercial kitchen space. We can produce as little as a dozen to several hundred cake balls for you to enjoy!
